- Atlanta Country Club – the historic club and longtime host of the PGA TOUR’s Atlanta Classic and the inaugural PLAYERS Championship – announces
the completion of a comprehensive renovation project led by golf course designer Beau Welling and his firm, Beau Welling Design (BWD).
Monday, March 18
- Bernhard and Company has launched a new company-wide challenge to raise funds for Crohn’s and Colitis UK, by taking on the ‘Race across the World’, in March, April, and May. The Race across the World challenge encourages
Bernhard team members to cover the furthest distance possible over the next three months, ending May 31st, 2024. Anyone in the company can take part, and in pursuit of covering the most kilometers, staff can choose to either walk, run, or cycle.
Wednesday, March 13
- The Rhode Island Golf Course Superintendents Association awarded $17,500 in scholarships for the year 2024. Each awarded student received a scholarship of $2,500. The C. Richard Skogley Memorial Scholarship recipient will be determined
later.
Tuesday, March 12
- The Musser International Turfgrass Foundation has selected Dr. John Peppers as its 2024 Award of Excellence recipient. The award is given to outstanding Ph.D. candidates who, in the final phase of their graduate studies, demonstrated

- Michael Flatt and Russell Smascz, members of the BOYNE Golf maintenance staff, have been honored with Recognition of Completion certificates by the Michigan Golf Course Association (MGCA) for their participation last year in a landmark golf course maintenance Registered Apprenticeship program held at The Highlands at Harbor Springs Resort. Tuesday, March 5
- Nufarm announced that the company's EZ plant growth regulator has been registered for use in 47 states and the District of Columbia. Anuew EZ is a flexible solution for golf course superintendents that offers easier application than
granules, with the additional benefits of labor savings and enhanced turf quality, according to the company.
Monday, March 4
- The American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) leaders announced their full support of H.R. 7228, the Bolstering Intellectual Rights against Digital Infringement Enhancement Act (BIRDIE Act). The bill would update the Architectural Works Copyright Protection Act of 1990, which provided copyright protection for buildings to now
extend the protections to include golf courses. This change will provide protection by amending the definition of an “architectural work” to include golf course designs.
- The USGA announced that Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., will host the 136th U.S. Open and the 91st U.S. Women's Open.
