Brian Martorana, a marketing professional with more than two decades of experience, has been named senior director, marketing and communications, for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). In his role, Martorana will provide overall direction and program management for marketing, content, digital platforms, publications and public relations to drive a comprehensive, data-informed strategy that elevates GCSAA’s mission, members and message.
The creation of this position and Martorana’s hire emphasize the association’s commitment to the continued elevation of the GCSAA Brand, marketing the value of membership and promoting the positive impact GCSAA members provide to their golf facilities and communities.

Prior to GCSAA, Martorana was vice president of marketing for MDaudit, a provider of technologies and analytics tools. That followed senior marketing roles in the technology and banking sectors, as well as advertising agency experience.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications from Washburn University in Topeka, Kan.
“Brian has a proven history of growing brand awareness and engagement,” GCSAA Chief Executive Officer Rhett Evans said. “He is passionate about golf, and we are excited to have Brian join us. His skills and track record of success will benefit the association by amplifying our mission and the work of our members.”
Martorana began his position today.
“I’m excited to join GCSAA and contribute to an organization that plays such an important role in the game of golf,” Martorana said. “Golf has been a big part of my life, so this opportunity is especially meaningful. I look forward to working with the team to strengthen member engagement and help advance the association’s mission.”
Martorana’s team will include veteran GCSAA staff members Kelly Neis, senior manager, creative services; Angela Hartmann, director of communications; Andrew Hartsock, editor-in-chief of GCM and director of publications; and Leah Hallstrom, senior manager of marketing.
